This book is about a girl who is very lonely with her mother dead and her dad always out searching for food. Dessa Dean the girl finds a beautiful dog that saves her life and others too. Ever since her mother died, she was afraid to go outside. Some pages were happy and adventurous and some were so sad I almost cried. But don't let that little piece of info make you turn away.
